Adjusting a Coin Mechanism – How to Remove Stuck Coin On Washers

Before you begin to adjust the coin mechanism familiarise yourself with the 5 screws and which components they loosen in the picture below and your coin mechanism, slight variations may occur.

There is a labelled coin reject bar on the front, which should be pushed if the coin gets stuck. The area highlighted pink is the coin reject slot and the area highlighted green is the coin accepted slot.

A side on view of the coin mechanism with parts labelled.

Make sure you have some of the coins/tokens you want to accept and that the coin mechanism is upright and secured to free up your hands.

If your token is magnetic you must remove the magnet, this is done by removing a screw(yellow) on the rear and pushing the magnet out, if you token is non-magnetic please leave the magnet in as it stops coin sized washers

The rear of the coin mechanism with the magnet circled.

To begin loosen and raise the bars A and C then tighten them up again, also tighten the two screws and loosen the two nuts near bar B. This should reject all coins.

Hold the coin just in the coin entry slot and then lower bar A to be just above the coin, it should be rejected and larger coins will not go in. Tighten the screw again to ensure bar A will not move.

A close up view of bar A.

In this step while tightening the screws the nuts must also be loosened so they remain in contact with the coin mechanism and visa versa, if the screws are loosened the nuts must be tightened.

A coin put through now should fall down past bar B, if this is not the case tighten the two circled screws below.

Loosen the two screws by a small amount, then test, repeat until the coin is not rejected and is caught by the rear hanger (blue).

A Labelled view of bar B with rear hanger and screws showen.

Move the bar labelled C down a small amount and then test, repeat until the coin passes through easily and is not caught by the rear hanger.

Bar C, it's screws and how it moves.

Test with the rest of the coins and repeat any steps necessary to ensure easy and reliable use. Finally test with other coins make sure they are rejected.

The Radiant Vending kit is cheep to run at 14p and hour and since it is coin operated, free from abuse so you are not left with an extra amount to pay from the heater being accidently left on overnight.

With our tamper proof, no maintenance design the SP107 is perfectly designed for out door use and with an all weather coating shall last for years with out problem.

At the sugested price of 20p for 5 minutes you will find the coin box will more than cover it’s energy costs and swiftly start returing a profit.

SP100 Reprograming

Increasingly we are getting enquiries about how to reprogramme one of our more popular products the SP100 coin operated enclosure, customers are deciding to change how much they for there products either once they are in use or to update older pricing schemes.

To reprogram a SP100 firstly you must locate the switch bank which is in the images below, the next step is to decide on whether you want the SP100 coin box to be in Timer mode or Tote mode. The mode you chose depends on whether you want to give a certain amount of time per coin in timer mode or to charge a certain amount for a fixed time in tote mode.

Switch 8 choses between timer and tote mode.

Location of switch 8 and general look of the switch bank, colour and style may change.

If you desire timer mode then switch 8 needs to be off.

The rest of the switches  control how long one coin will set the SP100 coin operated timer box off for. Each switch has it’s own unique value and by combination of the switches any time value up to 127 minutes is possible.

Switch 1 = 1 minute

Switch 2 = 2 minutes

Switch 3 = 4 minutes

Switch 4 = 8 minutes

Switch 5 = 16 minutes

Switch 6 = 32 minutes

Switch 7 = 64 minutes

For 82 minutes switchs 7, 5 and 2 (64+16+2) must be on where as 1,3,4 and 6 must be off, switch 8 is always off in timer mode.

If switch 8 is on then the board enters tote mode and switches 1,2 and 3 control how many coins need to be put through to activate the board. Switch 1 has a value of 1 coin, switch 2 has a value of  2 coins and switch 3 has a value of 4 coins, by combining the three switchs any number of coins up to 7 may be chosen, to take 3 coins switches switces 1 and 2 must be on.

Switches 4,5,6 and 7 control how long the coin box is set for, the sytem for timings is outlined below.

This table denotes which switchs need to be on to activate the board for certain times.

You SP100 coin box should now be working as you wish.

Recently there has been an increase in enquiries of coin operated gym equipment. Owners are deciding the best way to prevent casual use of many expensive to run pieces of equipment is to add a cheep and easy coin box to the system.

The owner can set the charge deciding if the item to be used at a premium and a profit can be made, or if the price should be low so as to mainly prevent inconsiderate use.

The device is directly wired into the device allowing easy installation and no complicated bit that can go wrong. The no maintenance design means your gym should run smoothly for years after installation.

The device, as always ,can be attached to any appliances making either the ESP007 or the SP100 suitable for practically all uses and other products cater for any other need, other systems such as wireless or cashless systems are also available.

SP126 Coin timer / Coin operated tumble dryers

For some time we have been hearing from launderette owners with coin operated tumble dryers. Many are still using; either 20p twist coin mechanisms or £1 & 20p Essex TimerTote (timer tote) and are having trouble finding spares and replacements. We have now released our SP126 with a multicoin coin mechanism that allows the dryer to be used with £2, £1, 50p, 20p coins. Also the addition of an LCD to the coin meter gives a modern appearance to older machines. These units are designed as kits for retro fit on existing machines.
